About Me

I'm a freelance writer with almost a decade of experience selling features to national publications. I now cover employment, food and travel topics for The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Telegraph and The Mirror, and write for magazines too numerous to mention.

Editorial

In the course of my career I've deputy-edited several publications, including a supplement for The Daily Telegraph and food magazine Fresh. I'm also always happy to break up my home-office life with subbing shifts on staff, and my experience in this field includes stints at The Guardian and Dennis Publishing. My skills include a superb working knowledge of common layout programmes such as InDesign and Quark, as well as extensive abilities with Photoshop. As you can see from my website, I'm also adept with HTML and Flash.

Travel

I haven't been everywhere in the world - yet. But in the name of travel journalism I've been to most well-known places and quite a few lesser known ones too. I'm a member of The British Guild of Travel Writers and travel extensively. I'm always contactable though, so if you're interested in my travel writing, why don't you get in touch and see where I've been recently?

Food, Drink, Health and Nutrition

I hold a Diploma from the Wine and Spirit Trust, a Diploma in Nutrition from the Open University and am currently studying for a BSc in Nutritional Therapy. My writing on food, health and nutrition covers everything from how food is manufactured, to healthy family recipes. When it comes to drinks writing, my speciality is spirits, and I routinely report on the latest releases and how to mix them for various publications.
